Gloucester Day – Live Music Saturday 7th September 2024
There will be a small celebration with live music on Saturday 7th Sept to coincide with the celebrations taking place throughout the City. It will be in Black Badge Square on the Docks (outside the soldiers of Gloucester museum).
The annual event that sees the whole of Gloucester come alive with stalls, stands, lively performances and all the pomp and ceremony of the traditional Gloucester Day parade. There will be live music, stalls, and an outdoor bar outside the museum from midday until early evening.
Gloucester Day marks the reinstatement of the original Gloucester Day – a day of celebration brought about by the raising of the siege of Gloucester back in 1643. This occasion was celebrated annually for centuries.
Gloucester Day is organised by Gloucester’s town crier Alan Myatt and supported by Gloucester City Council. It aims to boost pride in the city, encouraging visitors and residents alike to find out more about its colourful past.
